Parent’s may find this isn’t a game they would choose to play but we find it enjoyable enough that it is fun to play with kids. It makes for some nice spatial decisions and choices around the most efficient use of cards. Because there are two spaces for each card type on the board it makes for some nice choices for kids to decide which one works best for the card they want to play. She also likes the challenge of making the most of her cards to optimise her chances of forming a sequence. She loves having the card and board elements in the game and for her there’s enough here to keep her entertained.

That said our youngest daughter (6) really enjoys this game. So older kids are not likely to find this particularly challenging but younger kids will appreciate they have a level playing field and so will be able to be competitive. It’s important to note there is a high degree of luck in this game as the cards you receive are key to enabling you to form sequences. There are also some choices to be made around when to play any Jacks you may have collected. The main strategy revolves around selecting spaces that are as close together as possible (there are two on the board for each card) to enable a sequence to be formed. Gameplay: Sequence is fun but will be better suited to younger playersĪs you can see the game play is very straightforward. You can then proceed to take your turn as normal. Any dead card can be exchanged with a new card from the draw pile at the beginning of your turn. If you ever have a card in your hand that can’t be used because both the spaces for it on the board are taken, that is known as a dead card.

There are also bonus printed chip cards that allow you to place counters in one of the four corners.

The two eyed Jack is effectively a wild card that enables you to place a counter anywhere on the board.

The one eyed Jack that enables you to remove another players counters.

The deck resembles a normal deck of cards with some minor variations: At the end of your turn you pick up a card. You then place a counter in the corresponding space on the board. Turns are very simple and consist of selecting a card from your hand and playing it to the discard pile.
